London Ontario Attractions – Fanshawe Lake & Conservation Area

With the summer weather right around the corner, days of warmer weather is inspiring you to get away from home. This summer 2017 visit London Ontario, for a day of walking trails, boating and site seeing or a night of camping at the 3,000 acre Fanshawe Conservation Area. With so many things to get involved in like fishing and other special events, it won’t be your last stay.

Explorations Trails

Take your 10,000 recommended daily steps by walking through nature. There is about 24 KM of colour marked hiking trails, and beautiful photography opportunities. Take a chance and bike on the paths as well along with a required helmet, from dawn to dusk. On even number days’ bikers go clockwise and on odd number days’ bikers peddle counter clockwise. Follow this routine for safety reasons. Travel around mature forests, open meadows, three stretches of roadway and a lake stay on your desired route and prevent detours. A map is included for your adventures.

Take Your Pick

There are several opportunities available for such a weekend trip. Pavilions for weddings and other unique events are offered at this beautiful scenic spot. Enjoy all the open green space for picnics, or time to play with family. Playgrounds and sports courts are also at the location. Other events that take place at the Fanshawe Conservation Area are firework displays, dragon boat races and cross country runs. You’re always welcome!

Tips and Info

Dogs can be brought along, just clean up after them and hold them close on your leash. Pick up any litter you may need to dispose, and don’t pick flowers and pick on the wildlife.
