Spring Into April
April heralds the start of spring weather, and with it, all the great things London and surrounding area has to offer this month. Whether you enjoy taking your April slow and prefer to stay indoors throughout the warming weather, or love to make your way outside as early as possible, there is an abundance of events and activities to participate in this April.
Put the last of winter behind you with the comedic genius of Jerry Seinfeld, of Seinfeld fame. Jerry comes to Budweiser Gardens on Thursday, April 11 for an evening that promises to be full of nothing but laughs and good times. Well known for his role as himself in the show he co-created, Jerry has also written and starred in movies, and has continued to make people laugh since the 80’s. Tickets start at $62.50 and can be purchased online. Jerry hits the stage at 7:30 pm.
2019 Home & Outdoor Show
Nothing can get you into the season of gardening and outdoor activities more than seeing someone else’s inspiring ideas. Come on out to the 2019 Home & Outdoor Show at the Metroland Media Agriplex on Friday, April 12 – Sunday, April 14 to see over 200 exhibitors in over 125,000 square feet of show space. You can pick the brains of industry experts in home, outdoor, décor, interiors, exteriors and more! General admission is $12.00 in advance, or $10.00 for seniors, and the event promises to be a weekend full of idea’s new and old to welcome us all back to the warmer months. London Symphonia – Romantic Voyages
Valentine’s Day may be far behind us, but don’t let that be an excuse not to take that special someone out for an evening of romantic music! London Symphonia is performing a selection of romantic voyages by such composers as Schumann and Mendelssohn at the Metropolitan United Church on Saturday, April 13. Tickets begin at $47.00 and are available both at the door one hour prior to the show, or online in advance on there website. The programme begins at 7:30 pm.
Classic Albums Live: Elton John
The music of Elton John will be performed live at Centennial Hall on Saturday, April 20. Not to be confused with a cheesy impersonator performance, this is as close to a live concert with Elton John as you can get without actually being at one. Begun in 2003 by Craig Martin, Classic Albums Live relies solely on the music of the artist, and some of the world’s best musicians to pay tribute to the greats. Tickets are $47.50 and to purchase them you can register online at Centennial Hall. The show begins at 8:00 pm.
The hit musical Mamma Mia comes to the Grand Theatre’s Spriet Stage on Tuesday, April 23. Entertaining people all over the globe in various forms, this is the story of a girl, her mother, the past and present, and their life in idyllic Greece. Enjoy all your favourite hit ABBA songs at the same time, and let this performance take you away. If you haven’t seen this hit show yet, then this is one not to be missed! Tickets start at $30.00 and the performance run from Tuesday, April 23 – May 11. Tickets can be purchased online on the Grand Theatre website.
