There aren’t too many natural activities more relaxing than an evening stroll by the river. Living among the abundance of lakes, streams, rivers, and ponds as we do, London has much to offer those wanting simply to walk along the water. Here are a few places to visit, maybe even as the sun begins to dip!
Westminster Ponds/Pond Mills
One of the more significant bodies of water in the London area, Westminster Ponds and is home to not only some lovely ponds, but also countless species of birds and animals. Walk their sprawling trails and take in the views from all the angles, just remember to share the viewpoints with others and keep your distance when needed.
Kains Woods
With beautiful views of the river and its valley, this hiking trail follows the river as you meander through the woods. As another of London’s Environmentally Significant Areas, Kains Woods will provide hikers and walkers with the opportunity to observe nature at its best, this time along the river. Again, pay attention to signs upon visiting, and always follow best practices for social distancing.
Springbank Park
Finally, let us not forget one of the best parks and water views in all of London. Springbank park will always be one of the easiest and most relaxing of locales, by virtue of its proximity and ease of access for Londoners. Find a shady spot to sit by the river, and watch the sunset, knowing you don’t have far to go for home.
