Banting House National Historic Site of Canada
Did you know insulin was discovered here by Sir Frederick Banting?
As early as 1923, the house has been recognized as being the birthplace of insulin. On 7 July 1999, it was designated a National Historic Site of Canada and officially recognized as the “Birthplace of Insulin,” the home of the defining moment in the discovery of insulin.
Currently, Banting House National Historic Site of Canada serves as both a museum commemorating the life and career of Sir Frederick Banting as well as the offices for the local branch of the Canadian Diabetes Association.
The rooms Banting occupied have been restored to their 1920 state, and the rest of the original building houses exhibits that highlight his achievements.

The Royal Canadian Regiment Museum
The Royal Canadian Regiment preserves, collects, and presents artifacts, archives, and other militaria relevant to the history of the Regiment to assist in building pride, esprit and solidarity among all members of The RCR family. It’s also one of Canada’s oldest museums.
The regimental history can be traced back to the War of 1812, and it overlaps with some of the most significant episodes of post-confederation Canadian history.
The Museum helps foster a deeper understanding of the Regimental experience, within the broader context of military and Canadian history, among other veterans, communities in the London area and all Canadians.
